Adam W. Pearl, MD

Adam W. Pearl, who is board-certified in Otolaryngology, has extensive training in all aspects of this field including head & neck surgery, voice and swallowing disorders, sinus surgery, hearing loss and non-invasive cosmetic procedures (Botox and fillers), among others. He graduated from Albany State University, and earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his internship in General Surgery and his residency in Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he also served as chief resident. While at Mount Sinai, Dr. Pearl conducted research in the field of laryngology (voice/ swallowing disorders) at the internationally-recognized department. Dr. Pearl has authored numerous articles and abstracts. His research findings have been presented at national and international meetings. Cited in Connecticut Magazine's Best Doctors issue for consecutive years, Dr. Pearl has been the chief of the otolaryngology section at Bridgeport Hospital since 2013 and is also affiliated with the Surgical Center of Fairfield County and St. Vincent's Hospital. When Dr. Pearl is not serving his patients, he enjoys time with his wife and two sons.
Kong-Dr Derek

Derek Kong, MD

Derek Kai Kong is board-certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University and Cum Laude from Yale School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He did a fellowship specializing in advanced endoscopic sinus and anterior skull base surgery at the world renowned University of Pittsburgh. His research in head and neck surgery and pediatric otolaryngology has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Kong has received several academic research awards and recognitions throughout his undergraduate and graduate training including the American Chemical Society Norris/Richards Research Fellowship, National Institutes of Health Molecular Targets and Drug Discovery Scholarship, and National Institutes of Health Clinical Translational Research Fellowship. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His interests include squash, triathlons, home brewing, and classical violin.
Kerner-Dr Jeffrey

Jeffrey Kerner, MD

Jeffrey H. Kerner, a board certified otolaryngologist, has been treating patients with disorders in all areas of ENT for over 40 years. He has developed a particular interest in the conservative, non-surgical treatment of nasal, sinus and throat conditions affecting diverse populations. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University, his MD degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and his Otolaryngology residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He has served as a delegate to the Board of Governors of the American Academy Of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Chief of the Section of Otolaryngology at Long Beach Medical Center, Peer Review Committee of the Nassau County Medical Society, board member of the Long Island Hearing & Speech Society, and was the first President of the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology to serve two consecutive terms. Since coming to Connecticut, Dr. Kerner has provided care to patients in the private practice setting as well as to patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds in public healthcare settings. As a clinical instructor in the Otolaryngology Division of Yale Medical School, while supervising Yale ENT residents, Dr. Kerner worked at the Cornell Scott – Hill Health Center and also at the West Haven VA Hospital. His years of experience have taught Dr. Kerner that practicing medicine is an art; it requires not only listening, but more importantly, hearing what patients are saying. When not at work Dr. Kerner enjoys spending time with wife and family, traveling, jogging and is also a sports enthusiast.
